Day 15 of Blog Challenge: A picture of something I want to do before I die

My bucket list has changed immensely over the years but one thing has always remained consistant and it has been my desire to travel to Germany and Poland and see all of the Holocaust Sites and Concentration Camps. I've always found that particular piece of history intriguing and want to learn all that I can about it. I've wanted to travel their for years and you can bet your bottom dollar that someday.. I will.

Day 14 of Blog Challenge: someone I can't imagine living without

My Sisters!!
I could n e v e r imagine living with out these amazing little sisters of mine!
Heather is the youngest and she is all sunshine! She brightens everyone's day with her adorable smile that never leaves her face, she is an amazing example to me of being happy and optimistic.
Macie is the second to youngest. Macie is a true friend, she is very content with life and doesn't need all the flashy things that most kids need to have fun. She is someone who listens and has a very strong spirit.
Becca is the helper of the family and Jazz fanatic, she will help anyone with everything and anything at the drop of a hat. She is a clean freak and very dedicated to her school work.
Jen is the girly girl for sure, she loves dancing and singing - and is great at it too. She loves shopping and facebook, I think if the world were to do away with either of those she'd be beside herself as to what to do with her free time!
These girls are all so different but we're all best friends and always will be!

Day 13 of Blog Challenge: A picture of something I hate

Of all the things I could think of that I dislike: snakes, rats, snobby girls, bratty kids, guys that cheat, slobby drunks, clashing clothes, lesbians, screamo music... it all comes down to one thing that I absolutely HATE. Puke. Literally... I hate the noise, the smell, the sound, even the face someone makes before they puke is just repulsive! And even though its pretty rare that you actually have to deal with those around you puking there is something that pushes my buttons just as much and its burping. If someone lets a good ole belch out... it reminds me of puke... which makes me want to puke - and on occasions I've actually thrown up because of someone else's "burp." In our society today, burping has become a bit more acceptable, which is pretty unfortunate for people like me who are largely affected by it. So for those of you who say "Better out than in" I'll remember that when your burp makes me vomit all over the leather interior of your 2010 Hyundai. Deal? Bleh.

Day 12 of Blog Challenge: a picture of something I love

Before moving to college I had never even seen an episode of Gilmore Girls in my life, but once we moved in my roommate Jess (heaven bless her for this) brought up all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls. We are limited on our DVD collection and lack any TV channels- yes, even local channels. And so we have resolved to watchin Gilmore Girls 24/7 in our apartment. And, yes, I love it.

Day 11 of Blog Challenge: My Celebrity Crush

There is just no possible way for me to narrow it down to one between these two. Ben Affleck and Ryan Reynolds are DEFINITELY my celebrity crushes. Pretty sure I'd pass out if I ran into one of them on the street. Ryan Reynolds won sexiest man of 2010, and well, it was well-deserved. Ben Affleck is just plain attractive. Whew.. :)

Day 10 of Blog Challenge: A picture of a person I see myself marrying/being with:

No need to post any new pictures for this day, I'm gonna have to say ditto on the picture from Day 9.
I dated Andy for almost 2 years, and the rest of the explanation is not really blog-worthy this early in my career of blogging. But in conclusion of this very long and wordy blog post, Andy is the only person I can imagine marrying/being in a relationship with at this time in my life. :)

Day 9 of Blog Challenge: A picture of the person who has gotten me through the most

Just like the challenge of posting a picture of the person who has had the biggest impact on me, today's challenge was pretty easy. Aside from everything my parents have done for me throughout my life, and also not counting Jesus Christ as getting me through every trial I've faced. Andy has definitely been the bestest friend anybody could ask for and has gotten me through the most in my life. He is so patient and such a good example to me. Andy and I have so many good times and have so much fun together, but it's also a lot more than that. Andy is my best friend, he has never let me down. He is a great listener and is so understanding. I know that he came into my life when he did for a reason, he got me through the hardest time of my life and helped strengthen my testimony and helped me grow closer to my father in heaven. Even though Andy is across the world now, he continues to have an impact on me everyday through his testimony, example, and friendship. And I miss & love him very much. :)

Day 8 of Blog Challenge: a picture that makes me laugh

Ahhh, these girls. This picture makes me laugh for two reasons: For one we all look completely ridiculous and I love it. And for two, this was taken last night which ended up being freakin hilarious. So it may not be the picture itself that does the job it was everything about the night it was taken. I work with these 2 clowns - Vice and Apes. Last night we had our second sleepover this week and stayed up farrr too late but it made for some good times. I think I got an ab work out from all the laughing we did. (:

Day 7 of Blog challenge: A picture of someone who has had the biggest impact on me

This picture took me about 2 seconds to find, as soon as I read the blog challenge for today I knew exactly who has made the biggest impact on me and what picture represented it best. This is my adorable mother. She has been there for me through thick and thin. My mom is the most amazing lady I know. She knows how to be a great mom and a best friend at the same time - I think a lot of parents lack this gift. I can talk to my mom about "mother-daughter" issues as well as boy problems and best friend stuff. My mom has been a great example to me my whole life of how to never give up on yourself or the Lord, she has a very strong testimony of the gospel and implements it into her life daily by the way she lives. My mom is one of those ladies that makes people wonder 'how does she do it?' Well I lived with her for 18 years and I'm still wondering the same thing. She seems to exceed expectations in every aspect of her life. My mom has always been there for me and I know she always will be, I love her so much; she's my best friend and the best mom in the world! xoxo :)

Day 7 of Blog Challenge: a picture that shows my true self.

This picture basically describes the side of me that I haven't seen a lot of in the past few months. The one that is spontaneous and crazy, it might just be called growing up.. but somedays I miss the Brittani that would run through the sprinklers before going to answer her boyfriend for a dance just cause she wanted to.

Day 6 of Blog Challenge: A picture of somewhere I've been.

I was thinking back on all the trips I've been on in my life, I've been to some pretty cool places and on some amazing trips. From Glacier Park up on the border of Canada to a cruise to Hawaii I've seen some awesome things.
But my all-time favorite trip was the one I just went on this last February. My parents took my family to California for Valentines Day. We've been to Disneyland before but this trip definintely tops them all. We drove to Hollywood and saw some awesome houses and famous buildings- not to mention the Hollywood sign. We spent Valentines Day on Huntington Beach. This picture is of me and my sisters on that day. It was beautiful and there was so much happening. There was bands playing and we ate at Ruby's Diner out on the board walk. We saw the "Hollister Cam" - if you've ever been in Hollister then you know what I'm talking about. We went to Medievel Times in L.A. which was a blast! We did super fun things like this everyday. And, of course, we went to Disneyland and California Adventure for, I think, 4 days. All of my sisters were old enough that the rides were very fun and entertaining. I feel like my family's relationships grew stronger than before and made some way fun memories.

Day 4 of Blog Challenge: A habit I wish I didn't have...

Well, this day's blog just doesn't seem very chipper to think about, and to be honest I don't really want to do it. But here goes.
Hmm. . .
Okay a habit I've had since I was in Elementary School was "group hopping". I've never had that group of friends that I could say we've been friends forever. Every year from Kindergarten to Senior year I hung out with a different group of friends every year. I had one friend that I can honestly say I have been friends with since I was 4, Daylyn. Her and I have been besties for a long time, but High School brought us both busy lives that didn't mix. We didn't spend every weekend together, infact, we rarely spent any weekends together after Sophomore year. But I can honestly say we'll always be Best Friends no matter where life takes me.
Back to my habit I wish I didn't have... I wish I could find that group of friends that I never got sick of or I knew I could fully trust. And I don't think its necessarily a bad thing- I've met a lot of friends through this habit! (:

Day 3 of Blog Challenge: picture of me and my craziest friend

This is definitely ONE of my craziest friends... But most my friends are crazy. The real challenge would be to find a picture of me and and one of my friends thats not crazy.
This is James Jarvis, I call him 'Whorevis' and he calls me 'Sluttani' -- I'm not really sure how this started, seeing how neither of us are skanky at all (this is said completely sarcasm-free).
Me and James were in student government together, we were also in a group of friends call The Lil G's meaning The Legit Internship Lunch Group. There was a group of 4 of us that would occasionally include other awesome people priveledge enough to join us for lunch every Friday. Me and James basically became Le Besties senior year. The weekend we graduated James decides to do something crazier than defying gravity and moves to Cali. For one: I was unquestionably jealous that he'd be spending the summer in Cali, while I sat in Utah working 2 jobs saving for college. And second of all: I already knew I was gonna miss him and our Eminem Moments and 'just lose it' :).
Throughout the summer we discovered an amazing little device called SKYPE. Let me repeat: amazing. So fun, and it came in quite handy when I would pine for my bestie and his advice. From boy drama to deep talks about life, whorevis is always there for me!
James went to school to Texas Tech and I have yet to see him since we graduated. Lil G's for life my CRAZY friend :)

Day 2 of Blog Challenge: A Really Good Memory!

Well, obviously I'm not as dedicated to this blogging business as I'd like to be, but eventually I'll get these 30 blog challenges done, even if it isn't in 30 days, promise.
Well, day 2: A really good memory.
I'm not going to put a lof of thought into this memory I'm just gonna pull it randomly from my brain and lay it out here... ummmm... K I got one! A really good memory would be my last day of work at my last job. I worked at Bajio Mexican Grill with roughly 8 or 9 other employees- so it was a small crew. I grew pretty close to the other employees and we did our best to have as much as we could at work.
We would come up with new creations and cook them for eachother. A former employee, Tyson, quit earlier than me and would still come in for our creations on Tuesdays occasionally. We all had a lot of fun.
We also had a lot of late night talks in the parking lot. At the time I drove a truck, so we would go sit in the bed of the truck and just chat for hours. Usually about boy/girl drama we were all having but it was bonding and a lot of fun.
This really good memory was partially pre-planned.
The plan was that Me, Halie, Brenton, and Tyson would get some ice cream and probably eat it in the bed of the truck and call it a night.
Well, we closed up that night and Maria (the dishwasher) wasn't done so Brenton (the closer) had to stay until she was done. We waited for awhile for Brenton but Maria was taking a long time. We got tired of waiting so we decided to go across the parking lot to Iceberg and bring the shakes back to Bajio to Brention until he was done closing up.
When we got back with the shakes Maria was still up to her neck in work to do. So we all sat in the dark lobby and ate the shakes in the booths. Then someone- not sure who - had the idea to turn on the TV in the lobby. (big no no) So we turned on a movie on TV and ate our shakes. Maria got done with her work and clocked out. She went home, but we didn't. We sat in Bajio for about 2 hours and ate our shakes and laughed and watched TV. The adrenaline of breaking some store policies may have played a part, but it was still a memorable night! :)

1 - I love zebras; anyone who knows me, knows that basically I have everything in zebra (blanket, shirts, purse, bathroom towels, keychain) ... love it.

sleep.
this is what i want to talk about today.
it's been a few months since i wrote on here but maybe i'll get another boost
of motivation to keep up on this whole blogging deal.
anyways where were we? oh ya, sleep.
k, so i'm into my freshman year of college now about 3 weeks so far. and sleep is the one thing that us college students have totally mixed up. let me give you a few scenarios for example:
scenario 1: "wow, i was up until 3 this morning watching movies with my buddies! i'm so tired but it was so fun!" [Lucky!!!!]
scenario 2: "today after i was done at the library i went home and took a 3 hour nap! it was great!" [wow! Luh-cky!!!!!]
scenario 3: "today my professor put on a movie so i just got to sleep all of class" [daaang, that is SO lucky!!!!]
when exactly are we supposed to sleep? Its awesome that we did NOT sleep when we were supposed to, and even cooler when we sleep when we're NOT exactly supposed to. I'm guilty of it, your guilty of it..
this whole sleep-deprivation life is starting to catch up with me... maybe that's why i'm writing about it.. maybe in a few days i'll wonder why the heck i just wrote all this jibberish about luck and sleep and libraries on my blog. but for now, i feel accomplished (: and imma take ma nap now!

Expectations...

still being in high school, I was sitting in my English 1010 class on Friday, business was business.. I was doing my silly warm-ups (a combination of correcting grammatically-disfunctioned sentences and analogies with words too big I can't even pronounce- obviously this is not my forte in English) One of our school counselors came in with a "Senior Update." This is a little doo-dad where they come in and give us packets that tell us when our due dates are that we need to have our money turned in by. And by money, I mean checks written out to the high school for hundreds of dollars so that we can get that little slip of paper on June 4th that says "I worked my butt off, sucked up to teachers, made sure I was in class half the time, and PAID my school so that I can graduate now." Ridiculous, right? ANYWAY, as the counselor blabbered on and I felt like our classroom had been turned into a Charlie Brown episode where all the students hear is "wa, wha, wa, wha, wha wa..." And I started thinking about these expecatations I have on my shoulders.
The enormous amounts of pressure we take on ourselves as Seniors in high school are so insane it makes me start to understand why kids turn to drugs and alcohol for relief..
Personally.. I took my ACT, I get decent grades, I got myself a 2-year full ride tuition and fees scholarship to one of the best Universities within driving range from my mom, and now i'm working 2 part time jobs... and yet, I'm not even close to being as overwhelmed as all the kids who play 50 sports, 2 trombones, and are graduating with their associates.
Sometimes I wish they took high school back to the "Grease" days. Where we actually had time to go to the Drive-Ins, watch drag races and I had time to meet studs like John Travolta at the beach.
With all of that said.. parents think we have it easy... ugh.. please tell me it does not go downhill from here. and yet, inside I know it does. :/

First things first...

I feel like I owe whoever plans on reading this an explanation on who I am and what the heck I'm doing on blogger.
My name is Brittani.
I'm 18 just recently.
I am a senior in high school, and planning on attending Utah State University this fall.
I have a family of all girls, 4 little sisters is pretty entertaining at times- at other times its just plain crazy.
Biggest reason why I just started blogging is for myself.. I don't really mind if nobody ever reads this or if everyone does. I got a new laptop and would love to use it every chance I get. Blogging is just another reason to live on this little computer of mine... another reason is I don't love keeping a journal but I would like to get some feelings/stories out of my brain and written somewhere I can refer to. So they may be random but to me their something.
I don't plan on being talented with this whole blogging sport cause I'm already confused, but seems somewhat productive.. beats the crap out of updating my facebook status hourly:)
